New Moon Movie

i, like so many others, went to the new moon opening night! here's what i thought if the movie.
~ALERT! MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!~

i absolutely loved the movie.
many reviewers have been hard on it so far, but to me and many other twilight fans...WE DON'T FREAKING CARE WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THE MOVIE, SO LAY OFF IT. nothing they have to say will make me love the movie any less, and if their goal is to write a bad review to keep people from seeing it, they'll have to blow up summit entertainment to achieve that goal.
on a better note, the movie made a record for the box office of a midnight release. it surpassed a lot of stuff. harry potter (i love harry, though) and the dark night...
now, for what i liked and disliked about the movie.
again, spoiler alert.
first off, the effects were awesome. i loved the swift way things moved (like when jake got up that window) and then, at the same time, the way some of the movement was put into slow motion (jasper being knocked backwards).
and the wolves were pretty awesome.
the movie stayed pretty true to the book the whole through, except some parts that i will eventually point out. all of the feeling and emotion you got from reading the book, like the depression, and the suspense of waiting for edward to come back, shown through the movie. and that, to me, made me very satisfied. the actors could have been speaking tongues and if i still got from it from what i got reading the book, i would have been happy.
i would also like to point out the plus of very many shirtless guys. :)
i actually thought new moon was better than twilight. there was a token more realitsic motion to this one than there was to first, which pulled me into the magic even deeper. and i didn't want it to end. i remember thinking near the beginning 'i only have an hour left!'
i also loooooved the fact that two of my FAVORITE bands did musical pieces for this. the killers and death cab for cutie. the killers is my number one band, and when i found out that they were doing a song for new moon, it was, like, christmas. the rest of the soundtrack was pretty amazing, too.
now, for the things i didn't like.
one of my main problems was when edward finally took bella into the woods and told her he was leaving her, for he didn't want her anymore.
my issue with that is that she asked, even after he said that he no longer love her, if he would stay for her, and that definitely did not happen in the book.
in the book, bella did not seem to think she was good enough for edward; like him even being in a one mile radius of her was a miracle in itself. which was why she did not question it when the angel said he didn't want her, for he never had believed that he ever had in the first place.
so by asking him to stay, it took away some of bella's character a bit.
my second issue was near the end. it went from this awesome volturi scene to bella in her room, waking up.
they skipped so many parts from the book there! i wanted there to be the part where edward, alice, and bella were all waiting to leave, and bella was crying for the people who were being slaughtered in the room over, and edward holding her and alice telling edward to slap her to snap her out of it. and then them all getting on a plane and bella drank coke to keep awake.
that was a fun part of just edward and bella living in that moment.
and then edward bent over backwards when trying to convince her that he still loved her and that didn't really happen in the movie! grr...
out of ten stars, though, i would give the movie a nine-point five, for all the reasons it should be scored so highly. it put me on the edge of my seat and completely craving more.
